Description

Wow! What a special find! We found a small crate of these while traveling through Europe. These steel helmets were used by the German military, who then gave them to the Finnish people who refurbished them with a paint job and new suspension/chin strap. They are WWII-type M40 steel combat helmets produced by German WWII helmet manufacturer Hans Römer Fabrik. These were supplied throughout under special contract for the Finnish Army. They are nearly identical to WWII issue M40’s, with the classic rolled edge, correct steel thickness, and pressed ventilation holes. These helmets were totally unmarked, as to avoid the allied ban on West Germany selling war materiel after WWII. Hence no markings. Some of the helmets are in good condition, hardly used after being refurbished, may have a few scuff marks/dings and or minor soiling. Others were used hard, with lots of caricature marks that tell a pretty good story. It’s all in what you prefer for your collection. Hurry, limited quantity available, don't miss this deal!

My question is: don't you think a more accurate product label for these helmets would be "Winter War Finnish Military Helmet,' since thats what they are....and not "WWII German Military Helmet?" since that's not what the helmets are and that title is rather misleading?

I’d say no seeing these helmets were made after world war 2 by east Germany to sell to the fins it was a helmet made with the ww2 machines effectively it’s a post war made stahl helmet.
